Straight of Juan de Fuca, Victoria

You can get a good view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca by walking op the Beacon Hill (Beacon Hill Park). The Straight is the principal outlet for the Georgia Strait and Puget Sound, connecting both to the Pacific Ocean. It is the natural International Boundary between the United States and Canada.

It's also the place for the Swiftsure International Yacht Race. This sailor seems to be practising...

On the other side of the Straight you can see the Olympic Mountains.
